Question Maximum height and weight

Hello,

Well, few weeks ago some animals attack a child in Canada. The two animals were declared by their owner as CsV... what is for sure a lie. They look like F1 hybrids...

I'm now in contact with the Canadian Wildlife Minister, who is investing on this dramatic case...

I would like to know maximum height and weight encounter in our breed. If you know or own a quite big CsV can you send me is weight, height and some pictures of him (her).

I'm looking for males and females.

Thank you very much for your help.

Best regards,

from my limited experience, the tallest males (accurately) measured seem to be around 70-71cm at the withers. but weight is very variable, it all depends on the bone, and how heavy the owner prefers to keep them - i prefer to keep them very lean, others not..

If im not mistaken , there is a dog with 76 cm, I think it is the dog of Per Olav...
According to the database, Bonifac Testamonium diabolium was meassured with 75cm
In Spain there is a male with over 40kg according to his owner, Anuk Castell del Senillar.

For females I have my Mona with 66cm, but she has maximally 23 kg, I know that exists a female with 68cm, but I dont remember her pedigree name.

But normally a big CsV male is 70-72cm, I think wight on a CsV male of that size is about 38-42kg,,, if they are a bit (fat) maby 42-44kg )

My Hronec is 71-72cm, you can se him here >>> http://www.wolfdog.org/site/dbase/d/9075

Best regards / Mikael

Hello,
my former male Hron Zlatá Palz was 70 cm height and weights 42 kg without being fat... he had very strong bones and wide head....

there is a male with 72 cm in Germany, Flatcher von der Wolfsranch...but I do not know his weight, but I am totally sure he will be above 40 kg....

I also know about some females around 30-33 kg... and 64/65 cm...

best regards,
Tanja

my guess is if this is a state where wolfdogs are not allowed they are saying vlcak as a cover up ...an american wolfdog looks very different to a vlack though ...are there many known vlcaks in the area?

Thank you very much for your answers. It will be really helpful! I will meet someone at the Canadian Wildlife Minister so I will be able to show him some huge dogs in our breed and I will help him to saw the difference between our breed and the two ”dogs” involved in this case.
I send you an old link to a French forum, when you will be able to see the two “dogs”. Ha ha the owner say that they are Czechoslovakian Wolfdogs…
http://web.archive.org/web/201004280...hief-Maira.htm

Apparently they are from Romania with micro chip... But I don't have the kennel name yet... If there is one...

Thanks again for your help, it’s really important for our breed in Canada!
Take care,
Stéphanie

those should be CsW??? my god!! the silver one is a realy high percentage wolf cross or a pure wolf. you can see it on his head. the second one is bit more "doggy" if I compare him to the first one, but for sure not a CsW at all!!!

Good example, she is also tall, but this female that I meant, I think was from czech line, and in my personal opinion, not as nice as Hera

My Kei (Baby Tribec) was measured 65 cm, but I think she was higher, I would guess 67 cm (when she stood next to males you could see she was probably higher than 65), and she weighted 35 kg at good condition.

Frei Maly Bysterec is 65 cm and 30 kg.

The animals in the pictures are beautiful, but clearly not Czechoslovak vlcaks. The type of head resembles the Nort American wolves, not Carpathian. Also the coat is more wolflike, the lenght of facial hair for example. Eye color is also more towards the arctic wolves, not wolfdogs, same with the mask shape.

For you it would be best to wrote to official representatives of Clubs, at least to Slovak and Czech club. They might have these information. Maybe not weight but height for sure.

You can find results of bonitations from last three years from Slovakia here: http://csv.sk/chov/vysledky-bonitacie

I found one female whit 68 cm - Belis Karpatska svorka http://www.wolfdog.org/site/sk/dbase/d/12909

Few dogs are 71 for example Agathon Wolf Rhoderick Sodar http://www.wolfdog.org/site/sk/dbase/d/8863 and Badri z Devinskej

My WD has 67 cm and 38,5 kg. And he is not fat. I know few females which are 66 cm. But I don't know their weight.

But as others said, for sure those are not Czechoslovakian wolfdogs (vlcaks). At least one of them look like North american wolf or its cross. And second look more like some cross. But I think that one of its parents was wolf.

These dogs are not CsW for 100%... How they could say something like this?
My puppy lives in Canada and he looks totally different, like CsW... He is also tall, about 70 cm and today he is 1 year old. I hope after this tragedy the Minister will not bann the breed or something...

Thank you very much every body for your help and concern.
Thank to a "French CsV breeder" who refer to a "russian breeder" (who was apparently the one who has sell the two dogs), the wildlife mister really think that those 2 animals are CsV...
End of the story
I'm still arguing against this conclusion...
The person in charge tells me that the most important for them is not the breed but if it was 2 wild animals or nothing more than a dog... The CsV is a dog, so everybody is happy But he also tells me that many Labrador bite people every years and everybody still likes Labrador...

I'll keep you informed if I can obtain some better news'

Thanks again for your help
