Morgaine: it is very simple. Do not tell DEFRA that your dog is a Sarloos. Declare him as a crossbreed - say, a husky crossed with german shepherd. For 10 years we have lived here in the UK with a Siberian Husky cross Timber Wolf. Very sadly, we have just lost him. All our friends, relations and neighbours had and have no idea that he was 75% wolf. Why should they? Wolves, pure or crossed with dogs, pose no threat to anyone.
My advice is come to the UK with your beautiful dog - and just tell everyone he is a husky cross. No-one can prove any different. There is no genetic test that can prove whether a dog is part wolf. |

Government regulations are funny, huh? Do they also outlaw Chow, GSD, Malamute and Husky? They all have "wolf" in them (as do all dogs), with the GSD the most recent.
