Hip Displaysia in Wolfdogs?
Hi all!
My name is Janna and I'm from the US. I have been researching the Wolfdogs for some time now and I have decided I would love to have one join my family. My concerns are this: Being crossed with the German Shepard, does the Hip Displaysia run in the Wolfdogs? And if so do most of the breeders do the hip tests and get certifications? I have already called my state about "hybrid" wolfs and we concluded the wolfdogs are not hybrids by Wyoming state law. Also I was wondering what vaccines are done with the breeders? Do they do the Rabbies, Distemper etc? What kind of paper work should I expect when getting one of these dogs? Thank you all for helping. I really appreciate it. |

Hello Janna,
Nice to read that the CW is not a wolfhybride in your state. Before transporting a puppy to the USA, they are at least vaccinated to the normal deseases. Rabies is not necessary until the age of 10 - 12 weeks. Before that time your puppy has to be in the USA. After 12 weeks they need Rabiesvaccination. Certain papers are not necessary only the goodhealth certificate from the vet. But there is also a lot about this written in this forum. When you will search into the English forum, you certain will find it. Many greetings, Letty from Holland |

Hello agian,
I forgot to tell you that most of the breeders will check their dogs for Hippdysplasia and there is a possibility that there are dogs with HD. I tj=hink there is hardly no race without HD. Greetings, Letty |

Hello, in country of orign ( Czech and Slovakia) have all wolfdogs what are in breeding HIP Dysplasia result. I think, in other states it is not compulsory. In some states are in breeding wolfdogs with HIP dysplasia results and without it too. It is very bad, because we want health breed.
If you will find some good puppy, find parents with HIP dysplasia result and with test of character. I think, all breeders can halp you with transport to USA. |

In data base you can also see if a dog did have official HD x-ray result.
Also on the list of all comming litters you can see the results of the parents. And I agree with Hanka it is a pitty that in some country's breeders are using dogs without any official X-ray result greetings mijke
