Default eyetest results

What do you like about WD eye results?

Dog can have very many eye problems and they can bee bader that hips problems.

In WD you can read only PRA results but I know in our breed have other sicknesies also.

What kind eye test you coutry have? Only PRA?

In Finland vet chek all ilnesis in same time.

In Lithuania there is no need to check CSV's for PRA, but I did check Brukne just in case...
At the same time with PRA results dog gets tested for:

PPM
PHTVL/PHPV
Cataract (hereditary and acquired)
Retinal Dysplasia
Optic nerve hypoplasia
Entropion
Ectropion with macroblepharon
Distichiasiasis Ectopic Cilia
Corneal dystrophy
Lens luxation
(all unaffected!!!! )

Uf, so many dificult words.

In Germany we have to have a specialist check the breeding dog every year, or better said if you want to breed your dog again the eye test has to be not older than a year. For getting breeding permission for a new dog it has to be not older than three month.
They check on the whole bunch of genetic eye problems and only a group of testified specialists is allowed to do this on VDH-breeding dogs.

This part in the WD database has wring description. It should be called "Eye check". Because all dogs with eye check are checked against more illnesses than only PRA...

On Thursday, two of my dogs will be going in for their CERF tests (eye exams). These tests are only performed by a veterinary opthamologist -who is a new veterinarian for my dogs, so I am sure he will have lots of questions about the breed. I am curious if there are known statistics of eye disease in the breed, or if people know of individual cases - such as what disease was found, and the age of the dog when the disease was first diagnosed. It would be nice to know the names of dogs, but I am also happy to hear about "anonymous" cases.

Thanks in advance!
Marcy

I have send results of Uno`s and Xtreme`s eyetests to admin long time ago, but no results appears yet ?
In fact I don`t remember any dog who have anything written in page of dog under PRA....
So here are my results :

Uno
http://img39.imageshack.us/img39/7871/unoeyetest.jpg

Xtreme
http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/9753/xtremeeyetest.jpg

Both are free from all 15 eye illnesses, only L. pectinatum abn. is not tested, as this is only tested in rare cases according to the vet. eyespecialist.

Sorry for big size, but it were not readable in smaller size due to weak colors...

Yet again, this is an area where Bulgaria is lagging far behind as it seems that there is only one vet in the whole country that can do these tests (and I am not 100% sure he can do them all)...

Satu - was it ever determined whether Baron's disease was primary or secondary?

All of the very best,
Marcy
