Hello again

I was so focused on getting the photos up that I forgot to tell you what you are watching...

Hronec and I went to Kiruna by aeroplane from Stockholm,
to walk in the mountain on the king-pass (Kungsleden) in the northern part of Sweden this summer in Julie.

The part of the pass we walkt was over the rocky mountain,
and we also went up on Sweden’s highest mountain peak Kebnekaise at +2100m.

We was Trekking fore 12 days and walked about 120km, Hronec was about 12 month at the time and I had to carry most of his food. My trekking bag was 34kg heavy at the start and about 20kg at the end,
so fore me it was not a easy trip, especially climbing uphill was hard.

Hronec really loved the outback and was overly happy every day, but he did not like to fly, so next time I think I will go there by car.

To go Trekking whit your dogs and family is really something I can recommend !!!

Best regards / Mikael

Wonderful pics Mikael, I really do envy you. Years ago when living in the high North I often visited Sarek National Park and the area you were trekking.
Cheers

No I do not think you are to push her at least not when it comes to running,
but walk longer distance I think you can do...

On this trekking trip we walked about 10-15 km every walking day and we had one day of total rest.
It was hard fore me but Hronec just thought it was fun.

I have now start to train Hronec fore SVP 1,
but he is now about 15 month so we only run short distance 3-6km and I run beside him,
I will start bike whit him next spring when he is a bit older.

And thank you ALL fore the comments :)

Regards / Mikael

If you go as far up as Kiruna I can recommend Abisko National Park, you can walk from Abisko and in a circle back to Abisko on diferants routes from 1-4 days...

Or you can walk beside Sarek National Park from Saltaluokta-Kvikkjokk it is a distance of 73km and takes about 5-6 days, but I recommend 7 days.

Good luck, Regards / Mikael

New lighter dog food for long trekking trips :0)

I did find this new frieeze dried dog food that is SUPER for trekking, 4 kg of frieeze dried dog food is just as much as 16kg of normal dry food...

So for a looong treeking trip of 14 days +, you do not need to carry 16kg no more, only 4 kg :) And for a 7 day trip only about 2kg / dog :rock_3

Hope admin will not take it away as reklama :p

very cool! there's a variety of freeze-dried dog foods available in the US.

There is Stella and Chewy's and Nature's Variety which makes freeze-dried, and you can feed these without rehydrating. We brought S&C when we traveled across the US with the dogs.

There is also Honest Kitchen, although this one needs to be re-hydrated before feeding. Like K9Natural. :) 10lbs of it makes 43 pounds of fresh food too.
