Spring at last!

Finally spring came to Denmark, 18c and strong sun all day long :grosscool
...and the dogs enjoyed the good weather just as much as I did, while walking in the nature for the most of the day.

Obviously the sky of Copenhagen can compete against Skagen :)

Did Uno loose some weight - or only fur?

I´m really curious how long someone can bear this winter-wonderland (except CsW and locals) :rock_3:)

Vaiva 05-04-2009 16:34

Spring also came to Lithuania. Sisters Walkiria (Brukne) and Walmaj (Maja) are celebrating their third birthday :happy

Hi Josh,

Nice photos :)
I love snow, but this year in my part of Denmark we only had real snow for 3-4 days, the rest of the time, the snow melted as soon it touched the ground or a couple of hour after the snow it started raining :(
So I was looking forward to more stabile weather...

Hi Angelika,
I would`nt know how the weather is in Skagen ? But it is also far north from Copenhagen :)

Uno actually gained some weight and are a little too fat now(due to extra food for training for SVP), maybe you are mistaking Uno for Xtreme(Uno have a half ear, Xtreme have two whole ears) ? Xtreme have lost his wintercoat now, Uno is just starting to lose it.

Greetings Rolf

Brother of Uno called U`Tala and half sister Without ear Sirius is also missing part of the ear, so we have a kind of family trademark :)
But specialclub sounds good to me ;)

No, I know the "trademark" of Uno, but photography is often a bit misleading.

You are absolutly right, photos can often be misleading :)

This is maby alot of topic but I must ask again...

Do not GSD and wolves have sharp teeth to :ehmmm I can not say I know any of them whitout a ear tipp, even if there probably is one ;-)

But maby CsV is even more hungry and lively than a real wolf puppy :?

Best regards / Mikael

I think in general wolves and wolfdogs have sharper teeth than GSD or at least my CSW`s have sharper teeth than my old GSD ...also the figurant in the German shepherd club where we are training every sunday, is very impressed by my CSW`s teeth(size and sharpness) ...but to be honest I think many other things than teeth have something to say in this matter, wolfdogs seems to play more "violently"(many people think my dogs are fighting for real when they are just playing) also CSW have very quick reactions(some times too quick) and an ear can easily be at the wrong place at the wrong time ;) ....my old GSD almost did bite my finger off by accident, as I wanted to remove some grass from his mouth and did not see that another dog(which my GSD did not like) was approaching us from the opposite direction of where I was looking and in same time as I put my finger inside the mouth of my GSD, he was barking and almost bited my finger off ...and we were both very surprised about the situation, because he was concentrated on the other dog and did not see my finger and I did not see the other dog and was concentrated on the grass in his mouth :)
CSW`s barks, growls and snap much more than GSD when communicating, so accidents can happen more easy ...at least this is my experience !

I did see some wolves at "animal planet" with missing tip of ear and if I remember correct one of the wolves at Prag zoo is also missing tip of the ear.

Greetings Rolf

Juniorwolf 05-04-2009 23:38

I did remember right about the wolf at prag zoo :)
Lobo the alpha male is missing the tip of right ear...
You can clearly see it here :

Look at post 13, photo number 6 from the top.

Neither fat nor skinny, Rolf, just a little bit more compact/broad (?) - in your language: bred - than on your photo no. 5. That´s why I thought he looses his winter-fur :)

Juniorwolf 06-04-2009 16:58

Hi Angelika,

Here is some more photos from the same day, maybe they will give a better impression of Uno`s condition at the moment ? :)

You are lucky that you are not living in Germany ! Because here, if a dog is doing this, you are going a high risk that your dog will be shot by a hunter...and we have too many hunters as well as we have too much people crowded together in our small country... ( "Small" in relationship to more than 82 million people living inside !) We have about 230 human beings on one km²...

Not ideal for such kind of wolfdogs- behaviour...;)

Ps: In this case I could really envy you - it must be very different in your country!

Haha, but hunters do not hunt in the teritory of the capital, don't they? ;) We are here in a city teritory, it is not allowed to hunt here ;-) Seems like roes and rabbits and some other small animals also know it!

Silvester 25-03-2011 19:22

Ok, Vaiva - may be one day me and my "Zeus" will come to visit you.... and then we`ll all together go hunting roe deers and rabbits in the territory of your capital :grins:happy

I´m already very curious! Seems like roes and rabbits and some other small animals will get to know us ...?:diablotin

Have a good time until then !:smokin

Seems like you do not believe in me 8) If you come to Vilnius by plane, it seems like you are landing in a forest ;) Often you can meet Martes foina in the oldtown of Vilnius, especially if you walk after midnight ;) Not speaking about bats in old towers ;)

Ok, I normally don`t walk around in any oldtown after midnight....:mdrmed Here in my place you will only meet some Homo non sapiens -criminalis or - with a little more luck - Homo alcoholicus :drinkaif you are walking around after midnight.
( Sometimes you also may meet both species together...:shake )

But may be it´s different in your place, I don´t know...? If I read what you have posted it seems to me that you even have wild :wolf running around in your capital... but ok- may be only after midnight!!:jumpie

Linkiu Jums gražus savaitgalis - ir likti geriau po vidurnakčio namuose!

When spring comes, Raksha starts singing duets...

https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/_t...2/IMG_2228.JPG

... she renews all marks on her territory...

https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/_t...2/IMG_2293.JPG

...the first warm sun gives her more energy to play...

https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/_t...2/IMG_2374.JPG

...then comes the time of puppies...

https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/_t...2/IMG_2611.JPG

... bonitation follows, she meets with her father and brother....

https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/_t...2/IMG_2968.JPG

...also the water is warm enough for wolfdog swimmers...

https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/_t...2/IMG_3325.JPG

...and all of this makes Raksha happy and magnanimous enough to let toy poodle think she is impressed by the size of his teeth.
